Murchison Falls

Murchison Falls National Park sits on the shore of Lake Albert, in northwest Uganda. It’s known for Murchison Falls, where the Victoria Nile River surges through a narrow gap over a massive drop.

Murchison Falls is notably blessed with over 144 mammals,556 bird species,51 reptiles, and 51 Amphibians. With a great number of African elephants, Murchison falls is impressive all year round. Park wildlife includes hippos, and there are chimpanzees in the Kaniyo Pabidi mahogany forest and you’ll get a chance to see the big 5 plus see the falls in person. Other activities include boat ride and sunset safari. The Lake Albert Delta is home to rare shoebill storks. Notable visitors to the park include Winston Churchill, Theodore Roosevelt, Ernest Hemingway, and several British royals.
